About the author

Born in 1908 Lisa Chivers was one of the seven children of Edwin Walter Sparrow, the head keeper of Queen’s Wood. Lisa completed her memories in her late seventies when she had become a widow and was researching and writing her family history. She died in 1993 aged 85.
